• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Parking elevation snap with sidewalk

Hello guys :)

I have a question for you.Haven't search yet on google becouse I don't know what to search exactly haha :D

I'm interested in elevating the terrain where the parking is at.They are 2048x2048 textures, no markings included as separated layer, all in one, but now the sidewalk is different and it's 3d object, so now I need to elevate my terrain with the same level with the sidewalk, is it possible to do with any snap tool I heard of?

Thank you!

Hope for an answer.

Best Regards,

Teo

1. If the sidewalk is not in the same file as your terrain file, use File/Merge to bring it in.
2. Select the terrain object.
3. Click the Attach List button and attach the sidewalk object.
4. In vertex mode (Edit Mesh, etc.) choose the relevant vertices of the terrain object (the terrain you want to raise up).
5. Click the relevant snap button.
6. Drag a selected vertex to the identical vertex in the sidewalk, the terrain will snap up to that level.
7. Deselect vertices.
8. In Element mode, click on the sidewalk. It should all be selected.
9. Press the Delete key.
10. Save your edited file.

Hope this helps,

Just found a solution (not for the sidewalks as well).

I just connected my edges to a good amount of edges to get small cubes, more flexibile to work.Elevated every cube I need and rotated the PARKING SIDEWALKS to get similar rotation as parking's elevation. Then, vertex by vertex elevated the sidewalks to the ground poly.

@tgibson thank you anyway for your answer :)

@arno you can close this thread now, thank you.
