• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

P3D v5 Path where CVX textures are placed?

Questions sounds simple enuf. I presumed they would be in the P3D main Texture folder but I cannot find textures for shorelines, rivers, streams and bridges, etc?

On that note... for those out there that may have done this, can one create there custom CVX vector bgl file? Not talking about replacing a vector texture but a new one? Seems from what I have read in the SDK but maybe its actually hard-coded and one cannot add to it? Thanks.

You may wish to review the info in [FSX / P3D install path]\Terrain.Cfg in a text viewer.

You can easily search for listed textures anywhere on your system with "Everything" search utility:

You may also wish to review the info at these links:

Some practical info on working with CVX vectors are discussed in this thread:

It is possible that info more focused on custom Terrain.Cfg textures used with land class CVX vectors may be found via these links:

Creation of custom CVX vector entries in Terrain.Cfg can be done if sufficient caution is used, but it is an advanced subject unto itself.

"Some" custom CVX vector entries in Terrain.Cfg result from a 'recommended' install procedure of SBuilderX for FSX / P3D:

Hi again:

I almost forgot to mention that more info on creation of custom CVX vector lines and 'Autogen' meta- objects can be found here:

You may wish to review this thread (and the "Fun With Lines" tutorial by Luis Feliz-Tirado attached therein):

Hope this helps ! :)

Hey Gary thanks for so many resources. I did finally find where they were located. But I will read up on your sources for creating/adding custom CVX bgls.

Marry Christmas! :santahat:
