• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi: I have included a screen shot...Can anyone tell me what these "phantom" images are that are floating in the picture? They seem to appear around fences as best I can tell...

Thanks,

Steve

What happens when you turn your autogen settings right down? (but keep you scenery complexity slider up) Do they dissapear?

Settings

Doesn't seem to matter...I have all of the objects that I add with ADE set to "Normal" complexity so that they will all appear at that setting...I have included a shot of my settings...I have also added another post about weird fence behavior...Thanks for your help,

Steve

I have experienced some library objects(buildings) that do not show up using ADE, but the window textures do show up. Thats what it looks like you have.

That's a strange screenshot.

I have seen that effect when my system ran out of video memory. FS would drop the object(s) that it didn't have room for in vid mem.

That was with a 256meg video card.

What are the specs on your vid card?

Another possibility is slew mode. I don't know if you are in slew mode in the pic but on my machines (two of them) FSX behaves differently in slew mode as it relates to texture loading and object loading...I have seen odd behavior before with object appearance/disappearance, and also boundary fence appearance/disappearance....all seems related to slew mode.

Does not happen in normal flight mode.

Fence

I have a 756 video card, so that should not be the problem...Slew mode makes no difference...I think it has to do with the fences that I added and the type of building I was attempting to add...Other objects go inside the fence just fine...Some objects do not like to co-exist with fences apparently...Thanks for your advice...

Also, another issue I've seen in FSX, is the tires of the default fsx ground service vehicles bleeding through some 3D objects that are in front of them.

That may be tangentially related to the fence/scenery object issue you are seeing.

There could also be some video driver interaction here too...
