FSXA Photoreal textures darker in sim than the actual texture

Hello,

I have added photoscenery to my project with seasons, I used the colour match method to match to default colours, in photoshop it looks perfect. However, in the simulator, the winter textures mainly show much darker than what it really is, more noticable in winter, same applies to other seasons but less noticable so i think this is not my worry, just winter.

I have attached pictures of this, the winter texture in photoshop, and in FSX. Screenshot in FSX was taken in broad daylight, and I can confirm the night texture has no influence as this was tested.
As you can see something is deffinately not right here, any one know why the textures are darker in the sim?

Regards

I have not the faintest but I use gray scale winter textures and they give me a very good result. Are yours?
As for the night textures, somebody explained to me in another thread here on FSDeveloper how the night textures come about but I do not recall who said it nor what (s)he said and where to find it back. Probably it was George GolfHotelDelta that most of the times came and comes up with solutions to my specific problems.

Depending on the time of day, or the season, terrain textures will change, as they interact with the sun, and it's apparent change of angle in the sky.

This is a function of FSX and has nothing to do with SBuilderX or the resample program.

Here is the other seasons, kinda the same effect but not as obvious as winter...

But then in that case why is it only my textures that are dark compared to what they actually should be? they were colour matched to fit right in

Is that compared to in sim or the actual texture swatch?

The appearance of the landclass there isn't the same as it's texture. It's all trial and error. Just brighten it up a fair bit.

Because those 2 classes of "objects" are not rendered by the same engine I guess
