• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

I need some help, I am looking to move my existing version of my project into p3d.. First time I tried just copy and pasting the existing simobject into p3d v2 and the model displays in the aircraft selector but the game crashes when I load the flight. then I tried changing the sim=UH60 in the aircraft.cfg.. no luck, any suggestions?

and yes I do want to learn or pay to make a whole new aircraft.cfg with its own sim model in P3d.

Hi Rob!

I am very impressed with you! You have showed me that you are very dedicated to this project and that you are doing the work to make it happen. That being said I am making an offer to help you with your project. (NO PAY IS REQUIRED) (But keep in mind that I am working on a project right now. But I can work on my project and help you on yours at the same time.)

I do not have 3DS-Max, I use Blender. But I can save in 3dx or obj format which 3DS-Max can open. Also I do not use P3D, I use FSX but I would think most everything that works in FSX should work in P3D.

Now concerning your aircraft.cfg file if you send me your aircraft file for FSX or P3D I will take a look at it and see if I can get it working. I am no expert with aircraft.cfg files but I did purchase a version of AirWrench which works incredible well. And as long as your project remains freeware we can use it to create the Air file and the aircraft.cfg file.

Let me know if you want me to help you with your project Rob.

Thanks, Kris:)

Wow, Krispy1001 you don't know how much I appreciate your offer. I know you are a Blender genius so I know this project will look great when its done.

Once again I understand how busy you are so this is such an honor to get your support. Thanks!

Thanks Rob!

I am no Blender genius, but I am getting better each project I do. GOD willing I will help you tackle this project.

Sincerely, Kris:)

back to my original question, why do some aircraft work on FSX and P3d and others don't?

Hi Rob!

There is no exact answer, there can be a lot of reasons.

I am working on your aircraft.cfg file. As soon as I get it working good in FSX I will send it to you to try in P3D.

Please check your MP. I have sent you a message.

Thanks, Kris:)
