• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

P3D v5 Possible to copy and paste from one airport to another?

I am wanting to update the excellent MAIW Pensacola NAS and would like to use the stock P3D KNPA as a base, but I would like to use the MAIW aprons which have all the taxiways and parking spots. Is there a way to run the stock KNPA in one window of ADE and copy and paste it from another window which has the custom one? Or would I have to just recreate everything?

Thanks,
Chris

AFAIK only one copy of ADE can run at a time. What you can do is:

1. Load the airport that has the desired aprons (for example).
2. Lists/Aprons. Press the Select All button (or select what you want), Press the Select in Display button.
3. Right click an apron, choose Copy Objects.
4. Switch airports in ADE.
5. Right click and choose Paste Objects.

All aprons from the other airport will be pasted in, and will then need to be moved into proper position.

Probably a good idea to save the airport as you go (along with an original version) in case something bad happens.

Hope this helps,

Thanks Tom! Pensacola has a LOT of spots, and different satellite imagery has very different setups.

there is also the "Export ADE Objects" item in the File menu. this is used to write out objects in the current ADE file to a text file which can then be imported back into a different file using "Import ADE Objects".

Best to read the Manual to check on limitations, etc. Good for replicating loads of objects at the same time.
