• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

mi problema is
23:26 MDL9Writer Error This object has over 65535 vertices and can not be exported to FS2004 MDL

the model I have created in sketchup , I do well in fsx and Prepar3D but the problem is in fs9 please help

Cool..
I think sketchup cannot display vertex count that is why you are far over 65535 vertices that MDL9 cannot export. It is a limit per model for fs9. (like too many polygons).. Show us your object screenshot..

Hi,

The only solution is to make your object less complex.

Really, there are not many scenery objects that need so many polygons anyway. The challenge of modelling for a simulation like FS is to represent objects with as few polygons as possible and still look great.

Arno is correct and SketchUp multiplies polygons faster than rabbits breed. If you are able to break your model into two similar pieces then each half should fall within the polygon limit to allow you to compile and place your model into scenery. There is a reason for the limit and you will force your simulator to render all those polygons which will likely affect performance.
If you examine your model, you will probably find faces that aren't exposed to observation, hidden polygons and perhaps even duplicated polygons, you should remove these. You can use software and plug-ins to streamline and optimize your models. CleanUp3 by Thomas Thomassen is invaluable and has removed one third or more of my unwanted polygons. Maybe you should try it.

Hello:

You may wish to register for free (with all "ad-blocker" plugins disabled in your browser) for this website:

http://sketchucation.com/loginform-joomla.php?ret=L2ZvcnVtcy9pbmRleC5waHA/c2lkPTc2MTRjZmI5OWNlNmZiM2UxMThiYmQ1M2MxYjU0N2Qw

Then you may wish to download the "Cleanup" plugin for Sketchup =RK= cited above, via this link:

http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=22920

Note that after registration is verified and one logs into the forums, access to the Sketchucation plugin store is also enabled, and additional webpage links are made accessible.

PS: Always run Ruby scripts like Cleanup to alter geometry of one's model using a COPY of the original file, NOT the original itself. ;)

Hope this helps ! :)

You can also divide the object into two parts and place each one separately.
