FS2004 Problem deleting default road

I'm having an issue deleting a section of default road in FS9. The road runs right through a new taxiway I created.

I can cover this road with an airport boundary created on layer 10, but at night, I still get lights appearing above where the road is located (I use UT USA night lighting effects). I checked the UT forums and no solution was offered, so I figured if I can exclude that section of road, the UT lights would likely disappear. Am I right assuming this?

Well, I loaded SBuilder and connected to FS9. I then created a poly around the section of road I want to exclude. I checked the exc box in poly properties and set my layer to 6. I compiled the file and placed it in an active scenery folder. Loaded flight sim and the road is still there. I also tried layers 5,7,8, and 10 all with same results.

So, I'm scratching my head here. What am I doing wrong?

I think Ultimate Terrain FS9 road lights are not vector lights, so a vector exclude won't work. You'll need to exclude them as objects???

You might try looking for the UT forum on the web. I'm sire they can give you better info.

My thought wad if I could exclude the road, then maybe the lights would not show at night. My problem is I can't even exclude the road. That's the real issue right now. I'm certain it's an FS9 default road, as I had a friend take a look on his system (he does not use UT) and he sees the road. What other layers should I try excluding so I can get this section of road to go away?
