• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi fellas,so I'm creating this new airport in ADE all for FSX.Well after designing and carrying out all the procedures known to me,I went out to fly only to see no runway, taxiway, generic buildings. What might be causing this problem?

After designing the airport, all I did was save > compile (into FSX) and surprisingly nothing shows up!

Please help me!!

You haven't provided enough information of exactly what steps you took, but have you compiled your new scenery bgl into a scenery folder and have you added the scenery to FSX? ADE is not responsible for adding your scenery into FSX, you are.

Here is what I did:

After designing,
1.I checked through with the fault finder to avoid any mishaps.
2.I saved it.
3.I compiled the bgl to Addon scenery/scenery.

Is there anything else I need to do?

You need to check and be sure your Addon Scenery folder is active in the FSX library. On install some computer OS do not activate this folder by default.

Also what changes are you expecting to see? You say you crteated a new airport? Is this an airport that is not in the stock airport list?

If it is new with a new ICAO then is it listed in the airport selection list? If not then it is not activated. If it is then when you select that are you saying nothing appears? If so did you set the airport reference altitude correctly? Did you create an airport background poly at the same altitude as the reference altitude?

I know it's a bit slower, but in general I find it best practice to do one thing, then check the results before going further.

If the last thing done works, do another thing and test again.

If it doesn't work as expected, undo the last thing attempted, then test again.

It's an iterative process. There's no joy at all in spending a ton of time detailing a project only to find that it won't even export properly...

Alright thanks everyone!
