• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Problem with AI at my airport

Bob, I haven't seen any planes reappear near the airport (in the air), The just reappear on a parking spot before their next flight, but I would expect that.

I'll get back to the basics and see if the flights work. I'll also increase the interval to 4hrs for the test.

If you are sitting at your airport and a plane appears at a gate, well, that is not normal. Usually that means there was some kind of time out problem in the previous leg. Or something in the code of the AP. It will be later before I can see if planes land. I see that there is default traffic at PHKO, but that doesn't mean it works. Can your user plan land there?

There are no problems at either of the default PHTO or PHKO.

I ran the flightplan specified earlier with no problems.
 
Hello, here is an update on my problem. First off, the plane that was taking off from Hilo and disappeared was disappearing after 20NM not 10. I changed it to fly IFR but the result were the same. I removed all of the addon airports, textures, and flight plans just to try to get back to the basics. I had the same results. (No, I haven't see any planes land at PHKO). I took Bobs advice and flew out of these airports myself. I did notice one odd behaviour. Flying out of PHKO (IFR) I was able to get my clearance and get permission to take off but after I lifted off, the tower never transfered me. They did ask me to confirm the transfer but never gave transfer instructions. I confirmed the transfer and there were no options in the ATC window, all it said was "no messages to transmit to anyone". My IFR flight was from PHKO to PHTO so I continued the flight, when I was 23 NM from PHTO the ATC window gave to the option to tune Hilo approach. Everything after that moment, to landing, to parking went well.

I reversed the flight plan (PHTO to PHKO) and ATC work normal.

On my last flight plan, I set it up IFR from HI13 to PHKO, on the ground at HI13 ATC showed no options (just said "no messages to transmit to anyone") I took off anyway and turned toward PHKO and after a few NM the ATC let me tune to the tower, it gave me the VFR options (Land full stop, touch and go, transision airspace,I think these are the options) I had purchased Radar Control (RC) a while ago so I was thinking that maybe this was causing the problem. I uninstalled it but the problem remains.

I'm concidering reinstalling FSX and Acceleration and just start fresh. Any ideas???
 
Well, now that a few of us find no problems with your airport and FP, one option might be a repair from the FSX DVD. I have done that with good luck. Might be worth a try before you reinstall.

Hello all, I ran the repair for FSX and Acceleration and wouldn't you know, everything is working just fine. My AI is flying between Hilo and Kailua and back with no issues. Random AIs are flying in and out of those airports as well. I flew the same routes I mentioned earlier and ATC is working correctly.

I guess I had manage to corrupt a file or two with one or more of the addons I installed. Anyway, now maybe I can get back to making some AI routes and tweeking some airports.

You guys are killing me. I really try to not post much because so often I am dead wrong. However, when I see a post go unanswered because you guys who really know have lives and are otherwise occupied, well sometimes I can't help myself. My fingers twich, and I start to sweat. Especially if it looks like someone has done something that looks like a mistake I have made. Boy, the list is long. I don't even do the tough stuff like photo scenery and approach codes. I just want to add some airports and fly to them, or watch AI fly in and out at sunset.

It became clear that Gerg's problem was his addons. One reason that I don't use any. Plenty of people use them with no problems, but then... I realize that the quality of the addon makes a difference. There are all different qualities out there. Anyway all is good.
