• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

You can use a custom scenery object, like a terminal, in fsx planner. If that is what you are thinking, then yes that is possible. You just need to know the GUID of the object.

do you know what file that would be and how i would do it?
thanks for the help

I think you need to be a bit more specific - there are over 8,000 different library objects in FSX. Many of the terminal buildings are specially 'autogenerated' for a specific airport. Some are actually not library objects with a guid at all but are generic buildings - these are defined in XML that is then compiled into the bgl file.

Problem

Ok, this is what i get, my url is correct, I just don't know what is wrong?

The paths do look correct in the dialog. Can you check to see if any log files are being generated? (They would be in a folder called 'logs' in your FSX Planner installation folder.)

i think i get it. the terminals are like accouple big xml files and when you put those in fsx they become terminals. i ment do you know any file that i could use to get the terminal in fsx?

Terminals are specified in many different files in FSX. The OBX files will contain most of them. Is there a specific terminal you want to use or are you just generally asking about where terminals are stored?

Nope. If there isn't one there then either no logs needed to be created, or no logs could be created (might be a Vista security issue of not letting the app write to the program files folder.)

You could try running the program manually to see if any errors are generated. Here are the steps:
1) Open a Command window (Start; then type 'cmd' into the proram line and hit enter)
2) Navigate to the directory that contains FSX Planner
3) Run FSX Planner by typing 'java -jar FSXPlanner.jar'

Any errors that do occur will be displayed right in the command window. Perhaps this will show us something that will help.

its been a long time but finally i got gmax working. my questions are how would i import the gmax files to fsx planner and after i made the object in gmax, how would i paint it.
thank you

To import your GMax object into FSX Planner you would need to have a GUID for the object. Once you have that, you would create a scenery object in FSX Planner and place it where you want your GMax object to appear. Then specify that the scenery object is a custom object and enter the GUID for your object.

I don't have much experience with GMax, so am not sure how you would paint it. Perhaps someone with more experience in that program could answer your question.

I think you should ask this in the GMax forum :)

im back :D as you can see from my topic on the GMAX forum:

http://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/showthread.php?p=92205#post92205

i learned how to create LODS and GUIds and etc for the box. but i am having a problem when i try to put it into fsx. the SDK is installed in the C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK\SDK folder. i did everything as the link said and it went very smooth but now i am at fsx planner and i chose a random airport "KCEF" and loaded it. next i tred to add the box by going to options+backround images+select image+ and selected the box file in .bgl fourm. then i typed in the corrdinates:
top left latitude: 42.1920700425
top left longitude: -72.5369824481
top right latitude: 42.1910700425
top right longitude: -72.5359824481

and then click Image Is Visible. finally i click add airport and after i clicked it nothing happened. i looked at the spot it was suppost to be in and nothing was there. did i do something wrong?

-thank you
