• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi all..

I've just recently purchased FSDS and i've been getting though the exercises and i decided to make the control tower of my local airport.. A simple design but when i built it (only took 10 minutes) and i also used the basic tools which were in the exercises themselves and i've set the co-ordinates excactly and saved and made as a bgl it doesnt show in the game... i've triple checked everything i've done... does anyone have any thoughts of where i'm going wrong.. i'm a newby!

Thanx

Without seeing your model and long/lat entries, it's hard to diagnose.

Q. Did you do the water tower exercise, and it showed up?

Not that it has EVER happened to me (yea, right!), but are you SURE you set the lat/long and (ALT) coordinates/values correctly. Your object may still be in the sim, albeit, halfway around the world, or high above you!

Ok..

The first time i created it in the default location in seattle.. and i did do the water tower one and the building one.. & they worked just fine. I will put a screenshot of mine on here tomorrow. Your probably right that it could just be as simple as a number wrong somewhere.. Thanx for the reply..

Cheers

Hi there again felix..

Here's what the Lat/Lon look like at the moment and a snapshot of the tower.. Not sure if that helps or not. I had another look last night and thought that i may have flipped all the polygons sort of inside out but i didn't. If you could have a look that would be great.

Sean I think I see your problem. Look at your lat/lon coordinates. You have two colons seperating your degrees and minutes and your minutes and seconds.

I believe you should only have a period seperating your minutes and seconds, not a second colon.

In FSDS, to put an object in 47 degrees 26.03000 minutes of North latitude and 122 degrees 18.4000 minutes of West longitude, you should use this (no space before and after):

Latitude : 47:26.03000
Longitude : -122:18.4000
