• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

I added some new generic buildings to an airport an deteled some buildings
form stock data. Then I saved and compiled the file. The added buildings are correctly shawn, but the stock data buildings are still there. What did I wrong? Thanks for your help.

What tool are you using and how did you delete the stock objects?

I use version 01.46.02. For delete the stock data I used the delete key. Is that the wrong way?

I assume you mean ADE.

Did you start your project from a Stock Airport in ADE (Open Stock Airport)?

Initially it was certainly a Stock Airport. Up to know I modified the runways, taxiways and parkings. Beside the remaining taxi signs it works ok. Now i would delete some buildings to backdate the airport. May be I should rather use ExcBuilder than ADE. But I thought it would be easier to do with ADE
as it allows to add some buildings elsewhere.

No ADE will do it automatically. If you opened the airport from stock, deleted the buildings from the display and compiled the airport then the buildings you deleted should be gone. Make sure that you have set the Scenery Complexity in the main menu bar to Extremely Dense otherwise ADE will not show all the buildings. If some more appear in ADE then maybe these are the ones you still find in FS?

Thanks for your help. I tried again to modify a stock airport and it seems
to work well. Obviously I have to make changes with ADE a not with AFX or AFCAD. Ohterwise it will restore the initial status.

That's correct. Once you start with ADE you should always work with the projectg file and do not load from the compiled bgl file. Users of AFX and AFCAD are used to the program creating a bgl file. ADE stores a lot more information in the project file and this will be lost if you load your work from the compiled bgl file
