Hi, I am new to 3D modelling but a fast learner and I have always had a desire to create all types of aircraft, not already existing in MSFS, that I have flown in real life. I have flown 28 different types of glider, plus many types of Motor Glider (MG) and light aircraft and grew up flying my Fathers ASK16 Motor Glider. He is no longer with us ,so I would desperately like to start the project with his aircraft. I see there is a great SF28 on flightsim.to and I know there have been Motor Falke's in FSX previously, however, I want to ensure all are covered that I have flow and that includes the very beautiful Ogar MG also, which I flew twice at Lasham in the UK.
I have made a start on the basic 3D model of the ASK16 and have a PowerPoint presentation of where I am with this using Blender 3, I have created the main structure but having read up on all of the different processes involved in getting a completed model into MSFS, to be honest, it all seems a little daunting to me at present. I have also read that one should look to project partners with expertise in the many required areas.
So, I offer myself with real knowledge of the aircraft types flown, able to create basic 3D models/outlines in Blender 3 but learning more each day, so, hope to be able to produce the complete 3D models, no doubt with some advice, assistance and time but happy to put in the effort and do my part. I am also a good project manager, so happy to deal with that side as well. I am looking to produce all as freeware not for commercial gain at this stage, so I assume I am really asking for likeminded/interested volunteers.
Also, love talking anything aviation with anybody, as most of us no doubt do. I have been an avid flight simmer since the ZX Spectrum, F/A-18 Hornet on the Amiga, then MFSF v2 or 3 I think it was in DOS. So, very experienced with the flying and sim side, also have my own SimPit for testing flying etc.
If anybody is interested in helping me please let me know and I can send you over a copy of my early draft PowerPoint project board on the ASK16 progress to date.
Thanks in advance guys
