• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Projecting default gauges into virtual cockpit

Can anyone tell me how to project a default gauge, MFD,PFD etc. onto a MS2020 virtual cockpit panel, as per FSX/P3D?

Any clues would be gratefully received.

Hi,

Rather than starting from scratch, why not put in a 2D FSX gauge and see via MSLegacyImport the result obtained by importing this FSX gauge?
This is not a satisfactory solution but at least it has the quality of allowing to understand how to use the basic HTML/js gauges provided and then to build a process starting from a blank sheet of paper.

I have the same problem with some FSX aircrafts to which I want to add a gps and I was thinking of doing this process.

Thank you for the reply Didier.
I can see the gauges I want to use in the Onestore folder, namely “asobo-vcockpits-instruments-navsystem”.

These are referenced in the panel.cfg file of the 172

[VCockpit01]
size_mm=1024,768
pixel_size=1024,768
texture=$AS1000_PFD_1
background_color=42,42,40
htmlgauge00=NavSystems/AS1000/PFD/AS1000_PFD.html, 0, 0, 1024, 768

I need to know what sort of panel I need to create in Blender and also the folder structure of the “PackageSource”.
Any ideas?

I understood the problem very well but at the moment there is no documentation on this precise point to my knowledge. The only information I have concerns the result of the MSFSLegacyImporter program on a 2D gauge which will replace the XML/BMP code by an HTML/js equivalent based on the data available in the directory “asobo-vcockpits-instruments-navsystem”.

This process works in some cases and not in others, so it's worth a try but with no certain result. After that you can see the result and perhaps find your solution ...

Otherwise, the process looks the same as for FSX/Prepar3D, create a plane to which a $text texture is applied and then the HTMML/js gauge is applied to this plane to perform the programmed visualization.

There is also a discussion on FSDeveloper about sample code that can be found in the "Onestore" directories but I have lost reference to this discussion. I will try to find it ...

[EDIT] I find it: https://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/threads/getting-started-with-fs2020-html-gauges.449513

Hi, anyone who use blender can send a screenshot how apply $text to a gauge? Trying all week long with no success.

Thank you
