• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

P3D v4 Rain effect on cockpit glass

Hi, does anyone know of a step-by-step tutorial on how to make the moving rain effect complete with wiper sweep for P3D v4.5 cockpit glass? I have searched and found nothing conclusive. I also have the A2A utility but that is not very clear on how to use it either.

I am guessing that multiple glass model polys with different textures applied are controlled by visibility conditions but that's just a wild guess as I've found no evidence to support it.

I am currently converting my LDR Grumman Mallard for FSX to P3D v4.5 standards and having moving rain on the cockpit glass and working wipers would be the icing on the cake (I already had the moving wipers in the FSX version). I have several payware models with this effect in place but I have no clue how it's done.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

TFDI is offering true glass, but only to commercial developers, and only for sale. You can maybe ask them, but I doubt they will provide it for private customers, and the price would be expensive. You will also need some profound coding skills if you want to integrate that anyway...
