• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Ramp lights tutorial for FS9

When I made the first post in this topic seven (!!) years ago, I must have checked the "watch thread" option, so I got an email alert when you posted your request recently. If not for that, I'd never have seen it, as I haven't used Gmax in years and have no reason to check this forum. Providence shone upon you. :)

Weird. The forum bot emailed me a message that was supposed to have been posted here today by sfrenchie regarding a problem with my ramp lights causing the rest of his scenery go go blurry. I don't see that message here even though it's supposed to be here, but I'll answer it anyway and hope sfrenchie see it.

The problem with the blurries is caused by a texture I used that probably got corrupted. I also didn't know much about textures back then and wasn't consistent in the formats I used. That may have also contributed to the problem. Back in 2009 I released three sets of updated textures for all the object libraries I'd made up until then. Here are the links for downloading them from Flightsim.com...

The last link will get you the updated textures for the ramp lights library, and hopefully that will solve your blurries problem.

Hi Sid, you didn't find my post because I deleted it after figuring out that it fact it was one of MY textures that was corrupted
Actually it was in some light I had created a couple years ago following your tutorial. So, sorry for the false alarm.
But in a way I'm glad you responded because I knew you had some texture updates out there but couldn't find them to save my life so thanks a bunch for the links.

Hope life is treating you well those days.
Patrick
