• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Though I use GIMP some times, on Windows I have come to love Paint.NET which gives me a lot of possibilities. I use it for aircraft repainting as well as scenery making (textures) using both the Photoshop (.psd) and DDS plugins.

I use SBuilderX, Paint.NET (with .psd & .dds plugins) for layered graphics, airport design as well as 3D building design.

As Far as I know, there shouldn't be a problem to texture the stuff by the same 3DS MAX artist. Or is He special person to have such special treatment in your company ? Look, if I model then I apply the texture, I choose the material, I place the lights from creation tab, I adjust the intensity and I do the UVW and I hit the "0" button to bake the texture with all of the maps I need..
Look, I can do texturing for you, but I will never do it because I know that someone is very special by not doing this sort of work.. too easy. Photoshops and GIMPs with different paint solutions are not making the texture, just some adjustments.:confused::confused:

One of the bizarre effects of the forum software.

Each time someone votes, it 'bumps' the topic. The OP may well hAve been aware of this, but it is new to me.

IMO, the poll could probably be closed now.

I agree with you.

Im for auto-closing post that are more than 6 months old. If you need to address the topic again, start a new thread. I just started a poll about this topic just to see what the community consensus is.

What blows my mind is you have a developer in this thread (where in another thread he/she is asking for help himself on their project) applying to assist another developer that started the topic

... Because they 'twigged' that the poll 'bumps' the thread and keeps it alive well beyond its' usual use-by date, perhaps?

Poll closed now :). I think it would be a good idea if people starting a poll set the option to automatically close it after a few weeks.
