• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

P3D v5 Resample tool problem.

Hi,
I have a problem with old FSX Photoscenery seems to cause CTD in P3Dv5. I have read P3D SDK and tried to use resample.exe. However, I cannot make it works even the sample file they provided in the folder. I wonder why that happens. Do you have any information why it doesn't run and how to solve this? I drag .inf file to resample.exe but nothing happens. I use Windows10 and all the updates were done. This is the screenshot I found after running comand prompt.
Thanks for any comments. I have seen that the reponses on the questions are diminished though out the years. Please help me out. I will try P3d v4 SDK instead and see if that helps.

I thought it was the folder problem, I copy resample.exe to the same directory of .INF file. Then I edited destination folder to the same folder as .INF file. The same error occured, "Image Resaple Failed." No bgl output, no file at all. This is the example file from LM directly, not mine. It should work instantly. There is some problems with resample.exe??????

I edited p3d inf file to fit my information. Just changed the name and the info of the photo which works on the old resample. But there is no output file.

Hi,

Have you tried to use GeoTiff Imagery? Usually is easy to compile with ."tif", sometimes I found issues with bmp images.
 
The source files they provided in the example folder are BMP as well. The old FSX resample.exe works on this file. So, I don't think BMP is the problem.

Hi,

Resample complains about opening the output file. Are you sure no other tool has it locked (e.g. sim still running).

Also I would suggest compiling outside of the program files folder, as you might need admin rights to be able to write there.
 
I copied them out to the root directory of D:\ then it works like it should on example files. Then I used them as a template and edit my INF file. No bgl output! Even the comand prompt says it is successfully done.
Are there any differences in the photos between the old FSX resample and P3dV5 resample.exe ? I read their SDK and found that the water mask is different.

And what kind of output does resample give you when you compile from the command prompt?
 
Does the folder with the name Output exist on your D drive?
 
Yes, it exists. I copy the folder to d:/ I did the same way from their example and the output folder has bgl file.
