• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

MSFS20 Runway patterns change not saved

Hi, I try to modify, with ADE 2020, the Pattern section of runways of a certain scenery afcad file (MSFS SU9 or 10), and I select NO on runways where I don't want landings or takeoffs. Then I build the project, but, when I load the bgl file in ADE again, those parameters that I had set to NO are again on YES. Is there a way to have them saved?
Thanks.

FYI, "afcad" is not a term used in MSFS development and is not synonymous with "airport.bgl." It is actually slang usage of a file format that was used by 3rd party software to modify airports in FS9. While some old timers will make the connection, many developers are new to MSFS and will not know what you refer to, in terms of providing help and could have difficulty benefiting from any solutions.

As to your situation, there is some confusion, possibly from mixing terms.
Hi, I try to modify, with ADE 2020, the Pattern section of runways of a certain scenery afcad file (MSFS SU9 or 10), and I select NO on runways where I don't want landings or takeoffs.

Are you editing a default airport, or an addon? If so, is it located in Community, or Official folder and exactly which file, is it?

Then I build the project, but, when I load the bgl file in ADE again, those parameters that I had set to NO are again on YES.

Once we have applied the build function to a project in ADE, to apply further edits, we do not load the .bgl again, we load the project again. To load a .bgl, we must start a new project, is this what is happening?

Please consider using at least six sentences, or even as many as 60, to provide the relevant details, thanks.

Hi Rick, thanks for your reply.
This is in detail what I do:
Scenery MkStudios LIRF, file lirf-scene.bgl.
LIRF has 3 runways: 25-07, 16L-34R, 16R-34L.
In FS all AI airplanes takeoff and land on runway 25.
In real life rwy 25 for takeoffs, rwys 16 for landings with no wind or southerly wind, rwys 34 for landings with northerly wind.
I loaded lirf-scene.bgl with ADE, edited rwy 25 and set primary landing NO, primary takeoff YES and secondary landing/takeoff NO.
Similarly for the other runways, having in mind to use rwys 16 for landings.
Then I built and thus created a new scenery with that file.
Before SU10 it worked perfectly, AI airplanes looked at that file for takeoffs and landings and not at the original file in the MKStudios scenery folder.
After SU10 it looks like something has changed and AI again takeoff and land on 25...
If I open that modified file lirf-scene.bgl with ADE and I edit runways, they are all YES, so looks like ADE doesn't save those YES/NO settings...

Ah, I see, SU10 is the culprit, yet again. As far as I can tell, these changes are due to new interpretations of scenery polygons and priorities. I believe your changes will work if you are able to delete the problem runway and save that result as a scenery package and then start a new scenery package with only the edited runway.

Please bear in mind that we are working on compensations for update glitches that might be rectified in a subsequent patch. If you decide to attempt this fix, be sure to backup all software and file structure, in case it doesn't work.

Hi,
I have the same problem again any solutıon about that,
I changed take/off and landing assignment for parallel runways such as Ltfm 35r for only landing and 35L for take off
after build, I realized that on bgl folder runways pattern all yes for all runways
