• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Sbuilder and Ground BMP

Ground BMP question. I used Sbuilder to create the photo scenery I bought from and online aerial map seller and I have it working in my CSG airport but it is blurry etc as I expected. My question is;

Can I take that BMP that sbuilder created double or triple its size pixel wise so that it is not being so stretch in FS and redraw in photoshop all the details? Would this method work for the ground details?

The problem with resizing the imagery is keeping your geo-referencing figured out, xDim and yDim. And once the file gets past a certain point in size, SBuilderX will refuse to load it. The imagery would still workable with the Resample compiler, which SBX serves as a front-end to. You are also able to break the imagery into smaller parts, edit as needed and use a MultiSource .INF file to generate a single BGL file.

I went looking and there is 6" imagery available for the airport area, though from 3/2007. It's also public-domain data, so there would be no cost involved. It clips at the intersection of the road passing under short finals for 24 and the road that runs along the north side there at the 24 end.

Edit: If you have Google Earth installed then you can see the imagery, as that's what GE is using in parts of Columbus. NO! It's not GE's imagery, Homey don't play that game... You can see the cutoff for the HiRes if you zoom in to about 1,000' AGL, up by Moon and Miller.
