• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

SbuilderX 314 crashing upon compile

Hi, I have been using Sbuilder for a number of years, 314, and before that 313. I always had crash problems, specially with google, but eventually Suilderx would always compile and create a BMP file for me to work with.
A brief history, I have been compiling from ArcImagery or Nokia within the past 3 days in the Bahamas area, and until yesterday afternoon everything was ok. at one point I had 7 files open on Sbuilderx.
Then I restarted my computer as i was a bit slow, and now every time I try to compile it crashes almost immediately with the dreaded Sbuilder has stopped working and windows is checking for a solution. Then upon trying again, when I click on SbuilderX. before it opens there is a small sbuilderx window that says C:\Users\bernardo\Desktop\SbuilderX314\SbuilderX314\Tiles\L16X37618Y55940, with an OK at the bottom, and that small window reappears 3 or four times before Sbuilderx314 starts.
I have not changed hardware or software in that computer, still Windows 8.
Any idea as to what is going on?

SBX uses an .ini file, you might try renaming it for backup and let SBX build a new one. Works just like having FSX rebuild the FSX.cfg file.

Hi Lane, I had tried that, but the problem I encountered with that is that when I entered the coordinates in "go to Position", and the went to show background, the "show background" remained grey and was not clickable.

If you deleted/renamed the .ini file you would then have to pick your image source again.

In SBX, Edit > Preferences...

Under the menu Edit | Preferences, you need to activate the background source with the checkbox.
