• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

SBuilderX315x64 Compiler problem

I am attempting to compile a set of roads I added to a scenery I'm working on. About 2 weeks ago I added a shoreline to give some wave action in certain areas and that compiled just fine. Move ahead two weeks and I get this error message:
"SbuilderX can not Export RDX_Tangier.shp!" I checked the FSX Settings tab to ensure the paths are correct and all tools are present and they are.

Hi Ed:

Is this file already inside SBuilderX "\Shapes" sub-folder, and was it 'locked' by Windows during BGL compilation ? : :scratchch

[SBuilderX315 install path]\Tools\Shapes\RDX_Tangier.shp

Turns out this is a mute point since I was wanting to add a road system on photoreal scenery. Not possible.

Hi Ed:

Were you wanting to add just the Freeway Traffic to the custom photo-real road images ?

If so, those CVX vector Freeway Traffic objects will show through to the top of custom photo-real aerial imagery.

If you wanted to add visible CVX vector object road textures, one would have to create a full transparency Blend Mask grayscale value for the custom photo-real road images, to reveal the underlying CVX vector road texture instead of the custom photo-real road images themselves.

Hope this helps. :)

Actually Gary, this was for Tangier Island, Va., whose main mode of traffic is generally Golf Carts, Trucks along the docks and an occasional car or two, so it wasn't so much the traffic as it was a better visible road system. I simply chose a color similar to the few good areas I found and then did a vector line system in Paint Shop Pro as a layer. When I was done I made it very slightly transparent, merged the layers and the roads show up much better now, but not as though they are pasted on top of the photoreal.

Excellent idea for another method, Ed ! :)

Certainly that vector feature in Corel PaintShop Pro is a good way to do that.

Ironically, as I typed my latter post above, I was thinking about how one might otherwise do this as a Vector "Path" in Corel PhotoPaint or Corel Draw, then merging it with the Raster layer via a Mask in a multi-layer aerial imagery source file. :scratchch
