• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FSXA SBX - Unable to export many objects at once

Hi guys,

I'm trying to place numerous wind turbines in a specific location using SBuilderX,
but when I try to export, there is some kind of an error!
It only exports only 1 object each time :(

That means I would have to create over 70 different bgl files!!

Is there any solution to this problem?

Thanks!

You need to use the menu to select all objects, or else only the single object selected will compile. The Work folder contains the PROJECT_OBX.xml that is actually compiled.

I tried the menu/select all objects but still.....it denies to compile!

As I have understood it is an error due to the fact that I actually have made 1 object and use it numerous times around my scenery.
It has to compile many objects with the same guid.

Any ideas?

Hmm, it works fine here:

Is your object in a library?

No its not!

I select an mdl file and place it around using the objects tool.....

It is more efficient to place your model in a library if you are to have multiple placements.

Anyway, how do you select a .mdl in SBX

I can use only libraries.

Edit. If you try to place a .mdl, it will include the source for the model in the bgl. If you try to place multiple instances, it will fail attempting to include multiiple source files.

Edit/Object Lib Manager:

Click on the browse button next to "Get Temporary Objects from BGL file" and browse to your library:

This will place it in the right pane.

Click on the "Left arrow" to transfer it to the left pane:

It is now availble for selection by the object tool.

Excellent!!

Worked fine now! The first 5 are already placed!

Thanks a million!:)
