• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

scenPROC 3.1 no longer starts up?

I installed scenPROC 3.0 and then the update to 3.1. Was working fine for 10-15 minutes as I worked on a new script. Then I had my PC hang (not sure if was related to scenPROC during a process or not?). So I:

1. Restarted the PC, scenPROC 3.1 no longer starts up. I can see my CPU gear up like it is ready to load scenPROC, for about 2 seconds then nothing.
2. Deleted the folder and reinstalled the scenPROC zip file again. Still will not boot.
3. Deleted folder, shut down PC. Restarted PC, created a new folder, re-download scenPROC 3.0. Unzipped. Still nothing!?!?
4. Installed/ reinstalled/repaired MS Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable. Nothing.
5. Tried to install MS .NET Framework 4 but message says it is already installed with Windows 10.

I am dead in the water??? Any ideas?

FYI - My scenPROC 2.0 still boots up and works fine. But trying to upgrade.

Hi,

You can try to remove the settings folder, maybe that got corrupt.

I think the manual should state the location, it's in your roaming folder.

Nope, no such folder and the manual states nothing about this or a location. Install just says unzip and start the program. Did before but now zilch. Scratching my head on this one? Deleted, Downloaded and re-installed 3 times. I do see my AutogenConfigurationMerger folder in the Roaming folder but nothing about scenPROC.

I have added the information to the manual now.

You can find the configuration files in:

C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Local\SceneryDesign.org

Inside that folder you should find a subfolder of which the name starts with scenProc. If you remove that the settings will revert back to the default.

Gotcha. Here's is a screenshot in the SceneryDesign.org folder.

scenPROC SPC error message002.jpg

As you can see many instances of scenPROC.exe. I think it is creating one each time I try to start scenPROC?

Update - I deleted the scenPROC folder again and installed the 3.1 development version. I deleted all those scenProc.exe folders above. Started scenPROC and it WORKED! I closed scenPROC and it wrote a new scenPROC.exe folder. Opened it again just to make sure it is working and it is. I'll stick with the development version for the moment. Many thanks for your patience.

Hi,

Glad to hear you got it working again.

Yes, if you install in different folders you get different settings folders as well. How .NET does that differs for signed and non-signed applications, with the latest development release you should get a folder with StrongName in the name and it should use that one for each folder. But in older versions that was not the case.
