• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

SDK update

Some programs ask for the SDK update 1 to be installed. According to Acceleration SDK1 and 2 are in it. Do I still have to add the SDK update 1 to the spagetti:confused::confused:???

Thanks

Hi,

You should always have installed the SDK version that matches with the FS version you are using. So if you have SP2 installed, you need the SP2 SDK as well. Using the SP1A SDK will give you trouble. Simply always match your FS version.

Code:
FS-X (RTM)         -> SDK (RTM), SP1
FS-X SP1           -> SDK SP1a
FS-X SP2           -> SDK SP2
FS-X Acceleration  -> SDK SP-Acceleration, SP2

If I understand correctly, there are few functional differences between SDK SP2 and SDK-Acceleration. If you install Acceleration AFTER installing SDK SP2, you do NOT need to install SDK-Scceleration

One correction, SDK SP1 is for the RTM version of FSX, not for SP1 of FSX :). You need SDK SP1A with FSX SP1.

Hi Arno,

so if I understand you correctly, I have for FSX with Acceleration to install the SDK (in pic the sdk installer) or also the sdk sp1a?

If both needed to be installed, in which order?

Damn never so confused with this sdk (fs9 was much easier)

And then I can use e.g. scengenx and other programms right?

To be safe you probably better instal the SDK SP1A first and then the one that comes with the Acceleration pack.

And then I can use e.g. scengenx and other programms right?

I don't know if SceneGenX has been updated to work with the FSX tools, else you should use it with the FS2004 BGLComp.
