• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi,

There is in FSX a Space Shuttle (Atlantis) model available as Library Object (I suppose). How can I find it ?

Have found more information:

FS X

gen_spaceshuttle01 --- {43a89b2b-e28c-4716-bd18-1a1e827d56cf}
gen_spaceshuttle01_ns --- {a0c1e2cd-91c4-4be3-819a-b95a0ccac0db}
gen_spaceshuttle02 --- {f3a7bca6-5d9f-4f41-a85b-735d3e87dd47}

Hi,

What do you mean with finding the objects? It seems you already have the GUIDs, so that's all you need to know to use them in your scenery.

The objects are in the vehicles_aircraft.bgl and the one that is the space shuttle itself is gen_spaceshuttle02. The other object is the launchpad.

Hi Arno,

I need such model that can be altered: rotated, make it very small because it figures as a scale model above an entry of a pilot school.
If I can't do this with that library object, I will make it via splines.

Hi,

You can use the scale in the placement to make it smaller. Rotation might be a little harder since the pitch angle seems broken in the placement.

But if you want a small model, this one might be too detailed as well. So in that case you might better find a basic model that you can tweak. Maybe the Google Warehouse has a model or maybe you can find an old (FS2000 or FS98) model that the author allows you to tweak.

If you are using ADE, you can simply place this object into the scenery and do your rotations there. ADE has settings for scenery library objects for heading, bank and pitch. There is also a scale you can set, to make the object bigger or smaller. These ought to get you what you are looking for! :)

Hi,

I final decided to make my Space Shuttle with GMAX (MDL = 110 kB). Some textures still need refining. No splines were applied due to problems during the lofting... there was a topic here about this. This model is ment to be placed at the entrance of the pilot school (VLOC) in my EBOS-scenery for FSX.
