• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Shoreline error

Hi, have been using ADE to update basic airports in P3Dv3, hate landing and finding I have nowhere to park my Cessna. I have ORBX global and vector installed as you can see in the lower image below I have moved the airport to its correct location as it shouldn't really have been sticking out into the sea!

This image is how the airport looks in ADE, The Polgons I have are :-
exclude specific - airport backgrounds flatten mask class map (at the backmost layer)
Airport Background - flatten mask class map (under green)
Land class - Grass skirting 1
Water - ocean perennial

as you can see in the final image most of it seems to work but the shore line still shows around where there was land before.

any ideas?

P.S. I tried to add an exclude shoreline polygon to the area but that seems to exclude all the shoreline

Hi,

These excludes work in large blocks. So when you exclude the shorelines you don't want, you have to re-draw the shorelines you do want that have also been removed. Keep the exclude polygons as small as possible to minimize this effect.

Hi, thanks for the reply, I put a tiny exclude in and have lost miles of shore, can it be replaced with ADE?

Not important to me though, better with no shore line than have the shore going into the ocean

Yes, ADE can do shorelines. They are considered terrain lines (button with a pink line on it labeled "Add Vector").
