• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hello,

On the most Time I have welded this unwanted Vertices, but this is many many work.

You're always going to have extra vertices, but you can reduce them by converting to Editable Poly before slicing.

Thanks for your help.

Tom I have done it, going to EPoly, but there are unwanted Vetices too, not so many as before but there are.

Bob I will look and try yours.

Hey Sandra,

This is horrible in Gmax. Its like using Boolean, super vertice creation mode. :S

What I learned to do is cut out the polygons manually.

* Create a Spline Line to act as a guide, place over the cut area.
* Tick 'on' ignore backfacing....'
* Go to Edges mode (on an Editable Polygon) and click areas on Edges where cut line will be by turning on 'Divide'
* Go to Create mode while still in Edge mode and start making edges to all of those Vertices you added.
* Repeat above for the bottom surface area.

Done...

This will probably seem like it takes langer, but less deleting of Vertices, so its actually faster.

In 3DS Max, you can select Vertices and click 'Remove'. Very nice. Same with Edges.

Thank you *Uncle* Bill,

I think we must live with aaaarggghhhh unwanted Vertices.

I Think I have a solution for the unwanted Vertices if you like to slice.

The Object is an EPoly - than you click on the Red Button *Edge*, mark the Edges/Polys and then you can slice and there are no unwanted Vertices.

I have it just done twice and all are good -- no unwanted Vertices coming up there.

:)

I seemed to vaguely recall having heard or discovered this, but wasnt sure how it was done, etc. Glad you found it, Sandra.
