• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

P3D v3 [SOLVED] ADE will only compile GP objects

Hi,

After some time away from scenery design, I started working on a new airport but get stuck as only the GP are being compiled. No error whatsoever reported, just that the Airport itself and library objects do not have a bgl file generated.

Any help? Thanks,

are you sending them to jon AT scruffyduck DOT co DOT uk ? That file size should be fine. It would be better however to post the project file here since someone else may be able to help as well

I see multiple GP errors that is causing a problem.

If you uncheck the Compile GP Custom Objects then both the airport scenery and the unknown library objects compile

I tried this also before posting and get no result, the BGL compiler does not even fire...

With regards to the GP, I had these messages in the past and did not have issues with the compiler.

The problem I see is that you are not pointing ADE to the SDK.

P33CompilerPath=H:\_SceneryDesign\Airport Design Editor
P33Shp2VecPath=H:\_SceneryDesign\Airport Design Editor

So it will not find any compilers for scenery

It compiles fine here

I have changed the path to point directly to the SDK and again, same symptoms.

When I only ask to compile the airport and objects, nothing. When I ask to only compile the GP objects, it works...

What are the full paths to BglComp and Shp2Vec - I can only see part of them. Also no drive letter. If the P3D v3 SDK is correctly installed then ADE should find the paths using the Find button in the Program Options > Folders Tab
 
Cracked it! Thanks all!

The issue was that the SDK was installed on a separate PC from the one I was working on. This was not a problem until now. I did install the SDK on the local PC and it now works like a charm.
