• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.

When you have attached Effects at your Jetway and you like to have Static Jetways without this Effects, you have delete them from the Object.

But how can I do that in the right way and how can I control that ?

In Gmax it is easy you think? Sometimes not.
I have delete them from the HEAD_400 with marking the attached Effect Object and hit Delete. Okay, they gone in Gmax, but after the export the HEAD_400 is gone too.

I have done that on the LEG_EXT_400 too and there is nothing happen with this Object, it stand on the same place after Export of the Jetway.

The attach point tool in gmax is a bit clumsy when it comes to removing the attached effects.

To be absolutely sure, proceed as described in my last post:

Then I right-clicked the HEAD_400 object to see if there are attach point data in the "User-defined" section and voilà, there they were. Problem is that there was no attach point object belonging to that data anymore and so the gmax exporter failed/ignored the head.
Deleted the attach point data from the user-defined section and the export works and the head shows up in ModelConverterX.

After the right-click on the HEAD_400 object, go to object properties. Then there is a user-defined tab. Under that, you'll see a window with some xml data. This is the actual attachpoint data for the exporter. You can delete the entire xml stuff in that window.
Also, you have to delete the attachpoint object itself (that purple box), but I think you did this correctly already. The trick is the removal of the xml data.

Hope that helps.

Thank you Jeffrey, that helps indeed. Since 10 Years Gmax it is the first time I used Attached Points in Gmax. :)
