• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

SOLVED - v.5555 problems

Hi,

When recompiling an older ADE bgl in order to change only the runways start/landing attributes the resultant new ADE file will wrongly make all stock data visible too.

The airport is Aerosofts ESSA Arlanda, but same problems occurs at EKCH Copenhagen where e.g. Fly Tampa EKCH scenery become mixed with the extended default scenery in P3D2.5 as well as in FSX.

It does not help to make an exclusion rectangle.

Seen in the release notes that ADE no longer permits load or removal of stock data - maybe this is the culprit ?

To temporary fix this problem can I d/l an earlier version than .5555 ??

Best,
Bjorn

It looks like FlyTampa is usually strict block modify. Fly Tampa is copyright. I don't know if it is true.

Not true in this case - same will happen with every older ADE file I change in this way with ver. 5555.
Also, there are working freeware ADE files for Fly Tampa Copenhagen that changes the runway start/landing attributes as well as the parking attributes.
Fly Tampa as well as Aerosoft ESSA uses the stock attributes.

The change in ADE has no effect on this - it only affects non stock airports. I assume that since this is a third party airport you are starting from the bgl file? So can you confirm what you are starting with?

I am starting in the Aerosoft ESSA Arlanda case from an ADE file made by me 1 year ago.
Then it did work ok and the resultant compiled file did exclude all stock scenery.

Bjorn

The first thing to check is that there is no other Bgl file at a higher priority that is defeating you revised bgl file. I do not usually recommend this but
  • Make sure ADE is not set to split the compile of scenery objects and airport into separate bgl files
  • Compile the project to get a new bgl file to some place you know
  • Now load the bgl file you compiled from above and check whether you see a series of micro excludes. They will be located where the stock objects are. Also make sure that no stock objects appear in this bgl file. If there are micro excludes then chances are that you have another bgl file at a higher priority that may have the stock files.
Also be sure that you have not got any other exclusion rectangle that you added as you mention above- overlapping exclusion rectangles can cancel each other out.
If there are no micro excludes or you still cannot get things to work then please add your project file to a post here so that we can check it.

Hello again Jon,

Many thanks, mission completed :-)
The thing was that my ADE was set to split the compile of scenery objects and airport into separate bgl files
After changing that - no problems.

Best,
Bjorn

P.S. Thanks for the super fast answers.
