For sim P3Dv5.1 using latest ADE
I’m a bit confused with this one. I downloaded a freeware KONT scenery from AVSim and it installs fine (it’s copy/paste and add to library) but I noticed default buildings were still showing up around the airport. Using ADE I opened the bgl file and make note - the building models are in a separate bgl that was added to ADE library. I imported stock scenery objects and since the downloaded bgl doesn’t contain buildings, I deleted all the imported stock scenery items. When I reloaded P3Dv5.1 all the buildings were gone, including the ones that should have been (and previously were) part of the downloaded scenery. The only way I can find to get the downloaded buildings to show up in the sim is if I don’t import the stock buildings into ADE and recompile but this does not remove the stock buildings. I did adjust gate 212 to fit a 747 (blame PMDG for not having the 777 out yet for that) and recompiled before doing anything with buildings and all the buildings (downloaded and stock) were still there in the sim so there is no “lost” models when doing a recompile.
For some reason, I can’t get the stock buildings to go away. Anyone have any ideas? It’s always worked for me if stock was bleeding through to import stock, delete, recompile and it’s been fixed. This method however removed the downloaded buildings which are in the ADE library from a separate _obj.bgl file. I also verified no models in the original downloaded ADE bgl by opening it with ModelConverterX and in that bgl with the airport diagram it shows “no objects found” Last comments I could find on the scenery were from a bit back with folks using it in P3Dv4.3 and no one mentioned stock buildings showing still, so I’m at a total loss for the cause and solution.
would I need to export each individual model and recompile all the models again? Seems ADE is losing their footprint when trying to recompile after removing stock scenery and I’m not sure if that will help any.
