• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Strange Activate POI problem...

I have setup POI activations for all my POIs and have numbered them in sequence. The first POI is activated after a starting trigger 15 seconds into the mission. And this works fine.

The problem is I have one of the POIs being activated just as I enter the mission for no apparent reason. I can not find why this POI is activating. I disappears when I activate the first POI after my 15 second timer.

Why would a random POI be activated as soon as I enter the mission ??

Any guesses as to where to look ?

Also, I am getting the large compass and names, why ? Again, what controls the size of the compass ?

The compass size seems to depend on your aircraft.

I don't think that the POI is active unless you have set it to true or activated it with an adctiavtion command. Maybe the problem vanishes if you restart fsx.
Sometimes when I edit a mission and choose "restart mission" I find myself within the mission - fsx seems to have problems with the restart function sometimes after editing the xml.
 
I have to get out of FSX to restart a mission that I have modified. Sometimes the restart works and sometimes it doesn't.

I'm going to check some of the default missions. For some reason when it first starts there is a random POI that starts up and then when you initialize the first POI it is fine. I'll let you know what I find.

Jib,

Usually, the reason for this is that you've forgotten to set the POI to inactive. Check the True / False state of each of your POIs. I'll bet you find one that is set to True (and that's the one that's appearing at the start of your mision.)
