• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Stupid Problem i have

Im working on my C-123 V2 and was nearing completion of the forward fuselage and i somehow managed to do something to gmax that i cant figure out how to undo.

When i click to rotate around in the view or zoom in and out, my objects now turn to cubes sized to the max perimeter of the object. It never did this before and i have looked in every menu, but im not recognizing what would be causing this.

Anyone know what specifically I need to fix? Its sort of holding me up due to the fact that im trying to match the lines of the fuselage to our C-123K and i cant set the views because i cant see the fuselage itself...

Any Help would be great. If i need to post pics, then i can.

Thanks,
Tyler

It's called "Degradation Override", normally associated with key "o" for Oscar. The button is in the bottom right corner just left of the Snap toggles.

Edit: Please send picture of Provider.

THANKS!

I studied my pictures and the real thing in person a lot and just wasnt happy with it so i decided to restart it and thats where i am now. I work on the real thing and will be a part of the cockpit flight crew hopefully next year for the air show season.

Here is the V2 fuselage as of now. So far i have only been working on the nose/forward fuselage as that is where the V1 model let me down the most. It just did not turn out like i wanted it to or how it really is. However that was my first real model that i used good technique on.

As it is now, its nearly perfect. The only thing i need to do to it is cut the windows, smoothen it all and make the bottom of the nose (pink) a little more rounded as it comes to the point. There is also a little more cutting that needs to be done here and there to help with the smoothening, but its about 80% complete and accurate for shape.

here was the V1 C-123

Lovely. What an advanced design, for its day, I mean the real thing, was.

I gather modelling the tail fillet can't have been too easy. Or the wing-to-fuselage transition. Not a matter of simply hitting 'bridge' I suppose :)

Best wishes on this project.

YOU HAVE NO IDEA!

i spent two months trying to picture what i was seeing in person in gmax. And the resualt was close, but still wasnt correct. The rear fuselage/wing was easy, i did that in literally 10min, but dam that front.

I think i know how im gonna do it thought with V2 which should produce good results.

Part of my issue was i was trying to do everying strictly based off of lines on my three views, it took me a while to realize that while the lines on the drawings are correct, that you just cant tell the true shape from them and the wingroot is one of those cases.

The tail fillet was actually really simple. Im just using a triangular trapizoid as it is in RW and then will trim the fillet so it cant be seen inside and to get rid of the excess in the vertical stablizer.

And thanks.
