• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

P3D v2 T-346A

My god, this is one sexy bird! I've been following it for a while and it keeps getting better!

I hope she performs as good in the sim as in the real skies ;)

Yes Daniel, FSX will weld every vertex below that threshold. Can't say I ever tried if it's true, but so they say! In CFS3, from where I come, it's like that.
What design software are you using? I thought it was Blender.

Max it is indeed!

Excellent work beautiful to my eyes. Another question, how much time do you estimate for what is displayed in this image? For me I'm lucky if I can get two hours a day working on my models.

I can't say really. The first iteration of the VC started in 2012, that image is from 2014. It really depends, there are days I put 4-6 hours in, and months I don't even touch it. I would estimate a few hundreds hours, split 50/50 between modelling and looking at pictures, finding reference etc. I'm fairly slow since I'm self-taught and bad habits tend to stick to your workflow. If I had 2-3 months to work full time on it, I'm fairly comfident I would finish the modelling part. Pity it won't be the case. :)

I feel that we are birds of the same feather. ;) Since we are both using Max 2015 I have a few questions I would like to ask you about the software. Some things I would like to know how to change that you may have experienced. I'll put something together and post it later tomorrow.

Fire away, I'll try to answer to the best of my knowledge. Meanwhile the front right console is done, moving onto the rear ones. Couldn't carve the dents of the little knobs, those will be done with textures.:)

I did simple code back in university but I can't say I liked it nor I remember much of it. Being a one man army with such a complex project spells doom. Once I reach a "code friendly environment" I will look for options. I intend to undertake all the modeling work and try to texture the VC now that there are powerful tools to tinker with. I feel the rest is out of reach for my knowledge. I wouldn't be able to achieve the same finesse and complexity of systems by myself, and a good looking non usable brick has no market. I guess we will see, wish me luck!

Nope, I've got a few screens from MFD pages, hud and ufcp layouts. Probably a fuel system diagram and a couple of flight envelop diagrams from the prototype. The aircraft is too young for such documents to be public. I'm in contact with one of her test pilots though. Most systems are common to most recent airframes, but the actual parameters within which they work are classified. It doesn't help the fact that we don't have a strong aeronautic culture here in Italy, so it will probably be years, if not decades, before anything substantial surfaces.

Generally speaking, something along the line of the IRIS PC21 is what I'd like to aim for (plus tacpac integration).

Any chance you could send them? I would like to see how it works.
