• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Taxi lines on custom airport

Hi, I'm new to ADE and I'm editing a custom airport (made by someone else). It has custom ramp textures and the taxi lines are not showing there. Is there any way to fix that?

It's set to type PATH, Center is set to Line, Draw Surface and Draw Detail are set to on.

Also, I'm not sure if it's related, but there's no AI traffic coming or going at this airport (Myrtle Beach Airport - KMYR). Might be some things are broken?

Thanks,
Gregg

When you say custom textures do you mean that it is using custom ground polys for the aprons? If so these are drawn above any other elements and regular taxi links won't show over them.

Path type taxiways (contrary to taxi type ones) have no texture anyway but the centerline and edge lines can be drawn if you make sure that in the properties window of the taxi path the centerline box (for instance) is checked.
But if a custom groundpoly ( a gp_poly) is used for the taxiway, then that one will cover your lines and all else like Jon said.

When I hover the mouse over the Apron in the AFCAD it says "Apron , Surface Asphalt, Layer 115". Visually, when I load the airport in the Sim it looks like a very nicely done concrete tarmac. So I'm guessing that they have placed something there in one of their other BGL files? Not sure if there's anything I can do about that other than turn off the BGLs one at a time to find out which one and what else is in it.

The AFCAD looks well done and I've checked the links...looks right based on what I've learned. Everything is linked up and ATC does taxi me properly. But zero AI flies in or out despite there being flight plans for AI. I've followed some tutorials making some small changes, recompiled it...added a couple static airplanes to make sure my changes were being taken. I've also set that JetA and 100LL is available at the airport. There are also some vehicle spawn points and a fuel stand. Still, no AI at all.

Have you run the ADE fault-finder?

Are the parking spots bug enough for your AI aircraft?

There was a minor fault which I fixed and now the faults are clean.

Looks like most of the parking spots are big enough. Some are 30' radius. Others are 45', 60', 75' or 100'.
