• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Hello There,

I made taxiway centerline lights and now when I tested them it looks so much bigger than normal, is there anyway in 3ds max to scale them without changing their position becouse when I try to scale them they are moving so I have to position them from scratch.

Thanks in advance.

SKSimulations Team.

Unless you made each one an Instance or Reference to a master part, I'm not sure of a way.

In Blender, there is an option to choose to transform multiple objects based on various reference points. In your case, you would choose the "individual origins" option.

It's hard for me to believe 3ds does not have this feature. I wouldn't be surprised at all that if you searched around a bit, you'd find an answer and save yourself some time.

Ok, I searched it myself ;).

Whatever works for you I guess. If you redo them, you still might want to consider how transform centers work as I use the equivalent feature in Blender for lights and taxi-signs all the time. Unless, perhaps, there isn't that many lights. In my case, I didn't want to place over 1300 lights and not have the ability to adjust their size in the future if need be. :twocents:

I wouldn't remember the dimensions any better than you would. ;) It doesn't matter that much though.

You can. Click and hold and choose the second or third scale tool along the top. And on the bottom, tick the box to the left of the X,Y,Z. You can scale from the individual origins there.

That or change the texture.
