• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi, i have created taxiway sign at EGTR but i cannot see them unless i put my scenery up to high but then you see all the orignal scenery objects (hangars). Does anyone know how to make the taxiway signs show when the scenery level is very sparce?

Thanks

JS

Taxisigns are scenery objects but there is no place in the taxisign code to set the imageComplexity thus I suspect it is set by the compiler. you might find it helpful to read the BglComp SDK.

Taxiway signs should always show up. As far as I know there is no image complexity option for them. Do your taxiway signs show up in other airports that you have not modified? Did you make any hand modificcations to the xml or use another program besides FSX Planner that may have modified the xml in some way?

No, i dont have the taxiways showing up in anyother airport except Stansted (I have UK2000 Scenery Installed). If i cant change it so they can be viewed in very sparce scenery level then is there a way of getting rid of the auto generated scenery from FSX?

As was said, Taxiwaysigns don't respond to the Image Complexity slider.

What you are seeing are CUSTOM taxiway signs. They are scenery objects (not Taxiwaysign objects) and as such they can respond to the Image Complexity Slider.

To exclude custom signs, you would have to use an ExclusionRectangle and set it to exclude all library objects.

So Stansted is the only airport in the entire 24,000 airports of FSX that taxiway signs show up for you?

If that's the case then perhaps when you installed Stansted that caused a problem or conflict? I'd try rempoving the airport to see if it changes anything.

He means that to see taxisigns at all airports he has to put his scenery up high, the only airport he can see taxisigns with having his scenery down is Stansted becuase he has payware scenery for Stansted.

If thats not gunna work then, is it possible to remove existing buildings from FSX? Like hangers, so I can then replace them with somthing else.

As billy said i am using UK2000 payware Stansted Scenery.

Yes it is an NVidia 5000 series and some of them have problems with displaying FSX elements.

There is a known issue with nVidia 5000-series cards displaying taxiway signs in FSX. Actually it is that the taxiway signs don't show up at all, or display all white.

I don't have a 5000-series card so I can't tell you exactly what it looks like.

NVidia FX5200 it's OK

NVIDIA GEFORCE FX5200

That problem was superseded with SP1. Before, I could only see taxysigns at night. After SP1, I can see them at day or at night, without problems.

Hi,

Please, can't you see the taxiway signs you created or any one (including FSX's default)?

José
