• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

I have an eternal work-in-progress of a scenery covering the whole state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The project started in 1998 with the goal of being an 'add-on to an add-on', enhancing a then famous scenery by the late Alcides Paulo Alves Barbosa that covered a huge chunk of Brazil.

When FS2000 came and added proper support for worldwide scenery my project became stand-alone. Since then I am always updating airport and navigational data, experimenting with GIS data for better roads, rivers etc. (must admit that the FSX vector terrain SDK was a most pleasant surprise for me, since I already had lots of stuff in shapefiles).

Right now I am converting my old sources to FSX and working on a more detailed city of Porto Alegre (no custom 3d models though, as I am a lousy modeller...). I plan to release a preliminary version of the scenery once FSXKML is updated to support polygon holes.

Oh, and I just completed my own terrain mesh of the whole South America, with some manually corrected DEMs and Jonathan de Ferranti's DEMs too. All data is sampled at LODs 7 to 9 and split in QMID level 7 files just like the default cvx_.bgl files.

Just started on KFDK, Frederick Municipal Airport in Frederick Maryland.

Its my first scenery and its going slow....

My plan is to be done by May 2007.

I'm working on an add on project that i named "FSCareer". The idea is to add some roleplaying and continous gameplay features to FSX (in the long run) as well as some other stuff that comes in handy here and there.

As presented in the Showroom, I am working on the Evektor Aerotechnik EV97 Eurostar, a 2 seater ultralight/LSA. Currently it is developed for FS2004, but thought to be working also in FSX later on.
The exterior model is almost completed, and all external and internal animations are working. Currently working on the VC panel. Airfile & 2D panel is developed in Finland by Oskari Syynimaa.

OK. Time to break my silence. I am working on many projects in various states currently. Here is what I can share:

1. Payware Bell 206 B3 for FSX. Over three years in the making, and will be released very soon. Developed as a collaboration between myself and a handfull of other individuals. (No, I won't tell you the exact date. Don't Ask!!!;) )

2. MDL Magic (Pun intended) - A set of open source freeware tools that will allow you to view MDL files outside of FS. Supports both scenery and aircraft formats from both FSX and FS9. Features include the ability to perform minor edits and ability to recompile all inside one IDE. Alpha w/source coming soon.

3. A payware regional jet for FSX. Still early in development. Sorry, I can't give you any more details. :D

4. Several other wacky ideas that I won't announce yet due to a severe lack of useable time. If they ever materialize, I'll be sure that you're the first to know.

Cheers,
Sean

Smith Designs Tucson Intl. (Freeware)

More info here:

Its coming along quite nicely! :)
There is still much more detail to come, I just got into the actual "Non-AFCAD" work about a month ago, it will be compatible with Dan Relfe's Tucson Photoreal, and we are going to somehow get some taxiway/apron markings in there soon as well.

Today I will release my EDDK scenery after one year of development at AVSIM and Flightsim.com (YEAH!).

Thanks to all of you guys for the help and the interesting postings.

Screenshots are in the Showroom.

After a break ... perhaps after summer ... I will start with EDDH and maybe a second project concerning VFR objects in south germany.

Hey people I'm Aaron Yan and I'm working with Andrew Angelopoulos, Etienne Eisfeller, Eugene Yeo and Xie Kexuan on a Changi Airport scenery. We are halfway the project and are making good process so i hope i can learn many new things here!

I have just started working on a high detail version of Nimes-Garons (LFTW) in South Western Provence - it is primarily a French Naval air base, but Ryanair fly in there from Luton, Liverpool, East Midlands, and Brussels Charleroi (all 737-800s).

I live there and it is my "local" airport where I fly from all the time.

When that is done, I want to do Lyon St. Expury, which seems to have been avioded by scenery developers - maybe they know something I don't!

These will be initially for FS2004, and when I upgrade myself (in about 9 months probably) I will upgrade them to FSX.

Cheers,

Martin

Hi,

I am working on EDHE (Uetersen), a small grass airfield near Hamburg,
North Germany.

Regards,
Andreas

I am working on:

1.
Low quality seaplane docks and refueling facilities for the coastline of British Columbia, Canada. Basically different combinations of the same suite of dock, boat and building objects, with some standard FSX objects thrown in. This should cover all listed water aerodromes from Stewart to Victoria. I have built the objects, and am now arranging them in the landscape. I may also create some AI boat and air traffic.

2.
Some minimal objects for aerodromes in the British Columbia Coast range, that don't show up on the FSX map, but are shown as "unknown condition" airfields on the sectionals for the area. Am flying to these, making sure they are landable (with tundra tyres) then placing oil drums, abandoned looking buildings, and antique logging equipment objects there.

Hi Steve,

Sounds great! Keep in mind that the following facilities are included in the no-cost download Victoria+ for FS9 (vicenh06.zip at AVSIM). They are AI capable:

- Bedwell Harbour (CAB3)
- Vic International SPB (CAP5)
- Port Washington (CAP8)
- Mayne Island (CAW7)
- Ganges Harbour (CAX8)
- Maple Bay (CMAP)
- Shawnigan Lake (CYWH)

These further facilities in the San Juans are added in Victoria+ for FSX, soon to be released:

- Friday Harbor (W33)
- Fisherman's Bay (WA81)
- Rosario (W49)
- Roche Harbor (W39)
- Westsound, Orcas (WA83)

As well, the following are included in Vancouver+ for FS9 and FSX payware, all AI capable:

- Whistler (CAE5)
- Harrison Hot Springs (CAE7)
- Pitt Meadows (CAJ8)
- Vancouver Int'l (CAM9)
- Fort Langley (CAS4)
- Mission (CAY7)
- Vancouver Harbour (CYHC)

Some are quite complex, some are simple, so you may want to evaluate whether you ask your users to install your addon at a lower level than Victoria+ and Vancouver+, or advise them to try both and see what they prefer.

The abandoned aerodromes sound like a lot of fun.

Jon
