• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

The push back feature in FS is so lame.

Ok so you press shift+p and your plane moves back, and if you press shift+p+1 or 2 it turns in another direction while pushing back, Microsoft really got lazy with this one!

Some of you may already be aware of the thread Walk In FlightSim well, this thread sort of closely relates to it and brings up a good point where this type of functionality would benefit the push back feature.

What if you could drive a little truck and back it up into the nose gear and connect it, so that when you move your little truck, the whole aircraft goes along for the ride ...... what if you could tow aircraft in FS realistically?

Some developers like POSKY have added push back trucks that appear when you press shift+p but when you choose to steer in another direction while looking back, it doesn't look realistic at all ... I wouldn't invest in a feature like that if I cannot get it to work right.

If MS strives so much for realism, why do they forget about the little things that makes a difference and would make the whole experience more interactive.

Discussed recently in another thread. Take a peek at Rob Barendredgt's FSX Pushback utility gauge available from AVSIM.

It even includes "cockpit to ground communications..." ;)

We were exploring the basic commands this has. They do have a 'forward' of Push Back, available in code script, not wired into the keyboard, but it will not turn in a forward motion.

What you are asking for, I think Aerosoft could make happen, as they have incredible technologies for airports and ground based mechanisms. You would probably have to have a ground based AI plane that wouldnt be yours, and your plane would be the tow truck/push back vehicle. The fake Jet would be an object that was in play on the grounds.

We did get the plane able to be moved along forward though. That was an interesting find.
