• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

P3D v4 traffic tools

"HIdden" child process dialog boxes can be an issue with many of Windows own- or 3rd party- applications.

Typically they do not show on the Windows task bar; but often we can find them by cycling through open tasks via <Alt>+<Tab>.

I DL'd the aifp manual. Read it. Nothing there pertaining to this. I now got the notice that his non-default planes in P3D will not load.... only the default ones. This tells me it mayn strongly be related to the aifp title dimmed out. He never told me if the .net framework v4.5 worked or not, I sent a copy of it to him.

Before he tried my aifp he tried his copy he found on his machine. He then downloaded a copy, neither worked. THAT is when I sent him my copy. That didn't work either.

Are you sure you d/led the manual? The manual comes with the application within the zip file.

Did you have him Alt+Tab through the applications/ screens to see anything behind the AIFP Screen?

Just to be clear,... the VB NET.Framework 4.5 is required to run AIFP. It does state this in the manual under section 2 (Installing / / Uninstalling / Updating AI Flight Planner), Page 5.

Can be downloaded from here: https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/download/dotnet-framework/net45

You might have to watch him while doing the Alt+Tab. The easiest is to only have AIFP running when he is toggling the ALT+Tab.. You might see 2 options to toggle to (one, being AIFP and another.). The other one might or should indicate what is happening.
.
Also,... replacing the AIFP exe. might not correct what is happening. It would be best if he replaced the whole AIFP zip file where it is located.

I did read the aifp manual. Unless I missed it, I did not find anything to this problem. aifp is dimmed out.... the title bar. He has not called me back to say if any other programs do this. and default planes only in p3d will load up.

Hello Bob @jyarddog

Change the "dll.xml" back to the original form (with the FSUIPC. being called.) Do not change it, - Leave it alone, please.

The image of the P3D SDK doesn't appear to be the correct SDK for v4. Mine looks a lot different (see images).

Are you sure you have the SDK for P3D v4 installed? The contents for the "Traffic" folder need to be copied to the "Prepar3D v4 Add-ons" folder.

@GaryGB

The "Traffic Toolbox" link is the same that I linked to "Troubleshooting & Limitations".
