• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

unable to setup sdk

Hi Folks

Michael -
Many thanks for spotting that. :o
I'e edited my original post to reflect this.

Jimbobd -
Apologies and please retry with values as above.

Do not delete the fsx.cfg in the FS root folder.

That's your clean copy,
which FS will use to build your %APPDATA% version.

I changed the values in fsx.cfg (not deleting it) and when in full screen i can just see a tiny line at the top when i press alt. It looks like the very bottom of a menu but i can't access the rest

Hi Folks

Jimbobd -
In full-screen mode.

If you're seeing part of the menu,
try right-clicking.
Do you see the context menu ?

Please press CTRL+Z twice
to display the two lines of data, (red text).

Take a screenie.

Now press CTRL+Z once more,
(2 lines of red text should disappear).

Take another screenie.

In windowed mode.
Repeat all above.

Sounds like a resolution problem. Ensure that the FSX resolution is the same as your desktop.

It does sound like a resolution problem. Since you can see a tiny portion of the menu, can you access it with the keyboard?

Try typing (don't hold down) ALT and then F (separate keystrokes) for the Flight Menu or ALT and then O for Options. Do you then see the drop down menu? If so, try ALT and then T for the Tools menu.

Another thing to try: If you think you see the very bottom portion of the menu bar, is your Vertical screen position physically set too high (like, off the top of the screen)?

If you access your monitor controls (actual buttons on the montior) can you adjust your Vertical screen position down and then see the rest of the menu?

Or, now that you changed the config file entries, go back to windowed mode (ALT + ENTER) and try accessing the menu again by pressing ALT
