• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

This will be version 0.20. I have found a number of bugs in 0.13 and so that you guys know what I do and don't know about :) here is the update list as the moment for 0.20 (that is things actually done rather than things to do)

Fixed
- Problem with edge lights closing the line (Edge lights now show as dotted line)
- Thinner path lines for taxipaths
- Direction and pivot of jetways (thanks to Jim Vile) - to be tested again
- Misplacing of Glideslope and ILs after drag, compile and reload
- Compiling an airport selected from the airport list no longer compiles the whole AP file.
- Compile option turned off when opening an XML File

Added
- Compiler output window
- Taxiways drag with nodes
- ADE names bgl files for airports ADE_ICAO - Airport.bgl where ICAO is the airport code and Airport is airport name
- Compile now enable via File -> Save Bgl menu item
- Saving to xml gives the same file name as the Bgl file but with [Master] appended. These are stored in the Master subfolder of the application. This is done to differentiate between a file maintained in XML and the xml file generated on saving to Bgl that is saved with the bgl file name and with the xml extension
- The Open XML dialog starts in the Master subfolder

Changed
- Settings method so that changes to directories are immediately effective
- Airport list no longer has property grid
- Selected airport filename is displayed below tree
- Double click airport name in tree opens it in ADE
- Removed Compile Menu
- Removed options (not enabled in ADE) for opening and saving in SDE format

I've noticed a small problem with the program interface itself, namely Zoom. This seems to have been present since the first build.

When you zoom in/out, it seems as if it's based off of where the airport center mark is as to whether the screen will also pan to the left/right/up/down. This is much more noticeable when you zoom in closer. If the Airport Center mark is in the active screen, then zoom seems to work fine. If it's off to the left of the screen then zooming in slowly pans towards the left and zooming out pans towards the right. If it's off the right of the screen then zooming in slowly pans towards the right, and out slowly pans towards the left. The same with up and down. I believe the zoom feature is tied to the airport center mark and if you zoom in far enough it will eventually pan the centermark to the center. I would rather the zoom be tied to the center of the actively displayed screen so that zooming in/out would produce a consistent behavior.

Other items.

Would it be better to have right-click bring up the properties window instead of a double click of the left button? I've noticed a double click occasionally moves an object as the left button is also used for dragging. I've also noticed that double-clicking an item and then closing the resulting properties window with the X and the top occasionally modifies the item when no changes where intended. Some of this may be a result of the unintentional dragging of using the left mouse for both, but some changes are not, like a blast fence having it's end's connected. Bringing up the properties window should cause no changes unless a property item is actually modified.

just a note while i remember, if i type KORD for a search of the ICAO, then
i get a blank window and the tree opens "IRAN" its not finding the/any APX........
now i can find it using the tree for the USA/Illinois, i can find Chicago -O'Hare Intl ok

Add PANC to that list - unless it's moved to Mexico

I'll add that to the bug list - I think it has been reported before but I have not fixed it.

I agree and I will look into changing that behavior

That is already implemented in a build here. A context menu provides access to editing the object properties and also to changing the draw properties of the object (color, line width, colors etc). Hopefully it will be in the next released build

John,

Have I said lately what a pleasure it is to watch you work through this project.

Thanks so very much.

Reggie

Hi Reggie

Thanks for that. I am enjoying very much working with you guys on this and also learning a great deal along the way. The credits list for ADE/SDE is going to be a very long one :)
