• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Finished new airport with ADE, great software. However have some issues that I can't resolve and need assistance.
1.- Fuel truck does,nt respond to call. Vehicles on the airport don,t move.
2.- Tower does,nt designate gates to park when landing.
3.- Apparently from from I read on the October Computer Pilot magazine, there is a Taxi and other airport signs wizard in the last version of ADE. Can somebody tell where and how to find it.

To 3.

Please read the release Notes in the subfolder manual.

Regards

Horst

Correct - also try Right Click > Add > Taxi sign to bring up the wizard

Taxi wizard and vehicle movement

OK guys got hold of the taxi wizard, had trouble getting to now how it works, but I finally got to grips with it. I hope:) Question: having the taxi signs along the taxiways, will this enable the tower to direct incoming or outgoing traffic?

The other issue pending: I have created a parking spot for vehicles. Some are placed inside this spot. Others are placed along the vehicle path. So is the fuel truck. How do I get them to move and the fuel truck to respond when called by the plane on the fueling spot?

I hope you are naming your taxiways within ADE. Taxiway signs are not what ATC uses to direct traffic. You do not really need to name then either. It just sounds better if ATC says " taxi to runway 7C via taxiway A, A1, D. Rather that just "Taxi to runway 7C via taxiway. There is a box with a "+" in it,just above the fence menu in the center of the tool bar. Click on it to add taxiway names. You'll need to add one you each taxiway you want to name. Then doubleclick on a taxiway to be able to name it.

At some point your vehicle paths need to connect to taxiways to get fuel trucks to go to planes. Do you need the keyboard command that calls fuel trucks?

Bob

Thanks Bob I have been tyed up in other issues and had not seen your post which is very important to me. I will try to do what you have explained and see what happends with the ATC

When you do get to looking at it again it seems that your vehicle links are not connected to the parking spots as they pass by so fuel trucks will not visit them.

Fuel truck is now responding when called and goes to the fuel parkins point to service the plane. Great, one issue solved.:)

The fuel truck comes from a parking point where I have different vehicles. What is missing for them to move around? Don't think that every vehicle needs to have it's own connection to the taxiway and being on the parking point where the fuel truck is,I thought that they would start to move around?

Each vehicle parking spot should be connected to a set of parking spots. This is usually done by connecting a vehicle path to the vehicle spot and then to each link that joins a parking spot to the taxi network.

You should not have multiple vehicle spots linked together or part of the same vehicle network. I seem to recall that might be true at your airport

Also, check your airport vehicle slider in FSX. The higher it is the more vehicles you will have moving around. I think only the fuel trucks park in vehicle parking, for very long anyway. The rest seem to move about all the time.

Bob

What vehicles appear also depend on the parking spot in use. As I recall it needs to be a Gate type.

Are you only adding fuel trucks (Vehicles) from the ADE menu?
As Jon said each one needs to be connected to a vehicle path or taxiway and to work efficiently these need to be spread around different areas of the airport.................
or are you adding vehicles from the Library Object/vehicles airport or vehicles land as these are not animated and will never move.

ok guys here is what I have:
One fuel spot where the fuel truck comes all the way from my principal parcking spot when called. I think that this fuel truck is the default one because one that I added from the library did not move.
On this parcking spot I have vehicles from ADE library: cargo trucks, fire trucks, pickups, buses. My first question is: if I do things right, will they move around? The second one would be: if they do move around, do I need a parcking spot connected to the vehicle netway for each vehicle?

anything loaded from the library is static and will not move. Fuel vehicles that are created when you make a vehicle parking spot will move. Other vehicles (baggage carts and so on) can appear at parking spots when an aircraft is present but, as I recall, the spots must be one of the GATE types.

As i said in my previous message,
these vehicles you added from the Library are NOT animated
so they will never move around, they are static used only for visual effect......
The Fuel spot is for the user aircraft to start from in FSX and they need a Trigger added over this spot to see this in FSX, animated vehicles will visit this spot if you have gates added........
and as Bob said you need your slider for airport Vehicle Density on MAX in FSX to see the Maximum animated airport vehicles, also you need at least 50 Gates/Cargo (parking spots) to see a reasonable amount of animated vehicles at a airport, these are randomly selected by FSX..........

Ray

Fine guys thanks for the adice. Guess that on my airport which is a small one it will be difficult to place 50 gates/cargo to see vehicle movement. But I now have this very clear.
