• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

P3D v4 Virtualcol ATR Cargo Door

I looked up a thread here already and it was said that all you need in the aircraft cfg is the open rate, Virtualcol model animation has the cargo door operable. It is NOT in the aircraft.cfg for any model. So I added the open rate as suggested. I customized the aircraft in GSX. It STILL doesn't open. Here is the [exits] section from the aircraft.cfg for the ATR42-600 but all the models including the ATR72's have the same entry. The main exit works just fine.

[exits]
//number_of_exits = 2
//exit_rate.0 = 0.4 ;Percent per second
//exit.1=0.4, -12.553, -2.562, -1.371, 1 ;Percent per second
number_of_exits = 3
exit_rate.0 = 0.2 ;Percent per second
exit_rate.1 = 0.4 ;Percent per second
exit_rate.2 = 0.4 ;Percent per second

the // comments out the original.

I figured out what Virtualcol was designing when they created their ATR aircraft. They created static baggage cart, cones, nosewheel chocks and a GPU placed with an open cargo door with an auto programmed wingfold command. Since I found this out when I landed and shutdown after a flight, I discovered the wingfold command for all of those model objects animation in the object hierarchy in Model Converter X. Since I use GSX I did not want the static objects so I removed them and programmed the cargo door to "door 2" and the main exit which was f_canopy to "door1" which are the commands required by GSX and all works now exactly like I want it to. I consider this post resolved.
