• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hello

have a problem to produve volumetric grass.
Whatever I try, it's not visible in fsx.

Config:

SrcAlpha
InvSrcAlpha

Z-Test-Alpha

Alpha Test Level: I played with it, nothing works

Alpha Test Mode: Greater

Z-Write Alpha

Alpha Channel in texture, black background with white object.

Files in the link below, couldn't upload in attachment (only mobile internet at the moment :banghead: ) Don't know what I did wrong this time. A tutorial about it would be useful.

Further more, in model converter x, it's visible from one side only.

thanks comy

I can't open .max.

z test alpha,
z-test value ~128
Greater Equal

Assume vert normal
Z write alpha
No shadow,
no base spec
double sided

Also, you can have your texture as 128x1024, or 256/512x1024.

Don't forget, .dds is inverted, if you have submerged part of your plane and forgot to flip the image, it could be displaying into the ground, not up.

thanks for help.

Yeah I used 2 sided form 3ds max (too many options make me confused), and not double sided from plugin. Double sided works very well.

Now I can see it in fsx, I placed this object in 3 feet over airport. It seems you was right, it was in the ground, although I have placed my object above 0 in 3ds max.

However, works now, so I can continue my work. Thanks for help again.
