• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

wake effect

Hi all,

I stumbled on this site just now and recognized the names of lots of forum members.
First let me tell you that I am still on FS8 (for the time being). This might avoid some confusion later on.
Now the problem I am facing:
I am working on a carrier fleet scenery for FS8 using a carrier API and USnavy API's I found on fs-shipyards and scenery.org. I added AI planes and heli's, but I find one thing disturbing and that is that the USnavy vessel API's do have wakes, but the carrier API does not. In the meantime, I know how to add wakes to AI vessels or plain sailable vessels but I do not seem to be able to add an fx.wake to a static object. I have used fseffects to add all kinds of effects to static scenery (smoke, fires, etc.) converting it to bgl's with AFW and FSSC.
I also know that there is a xml wake effect but I think that works only in FS9 and besides I do not have an XML editor.
Are there some people that could give me a hand in solving my problem?

Thanks,

Roby

Hi,

Is really no one able to give me a hint on how to solve the wake problem?
Nobody interested in ships?
