Hello
Im not sure if its connected in any way to development with MSFS or if it was a pre coincidence. I cant really wrap my head around what have may happened here tbh. Anyway:
Over the last days i started to get into MSFS development. I made some smaller airfields and started on EDDS that isnt in the sim yet. All was fine, i found more and more into the SDK etc. The sceneries work fine in the sim.
Then on my last edit of an airfield near where i live i went into a weird problem. After compiling the bgl various times with the usual errors (the known ones, "folder cannot be located" etc) I placed some planes from the standard library onto the grass near the runway. Then i compiled again (inside the sim with scenery/project editor) and suddenly everything went crazy. I got weird errors in the log, things about autopilot and whatnot. Sadly i dont have the log. The red error text was at least 3 or 4 "pages" long (unfiltered) and one had to scroll a lot to get to the bottom of the log because of all the red multi-line long red errors..
The same moment the fps in the sim went from a steady 60 fps to ~35 and it showed me "Limited by Mainthread" with red band in the fps counter from developer mode. I thought ok, lets wait a bit but it never got back to the previous 60. Then i restarted the sim, without dev mode and it was still the same.... I restarted the PC even and now no matter what, the sim stutters like crazy, the mainthread is always hammered on and i cannot really fly like before anymore. This happens in all planes now. Areas where i had constant vsynced 60 fps now only run with half of it, maybe even less and always that red band with mainthread warning.
I have 2 pics here where one can even see it. The first one i made when all was fine and the second i made after compiling. Look at the fps counter, its hard to see but you see the red band suddenly and ~ 40 fps on the second pic.
Those pics are from the same session, i didnt close the sim nor anything. I did not change a setting, nothing. The moment i compiled this happened.
Like said, this happens everywhere now and in every plane. I never reach 60 fps anymore, even in the identical scenery and camangle/time as in pic 1.
What in all names can this be? Its so weird. Normally at least the activities (Bushflight etc) always gave me constant 60 fps. Now its the half.... Not sure whats going on really. I just started middlesh in the bush in South America, nearly no Autogen around and departed with 23 fps where again i usually got 60 vsync fps.
If this is a coincide, what kind of coincidence could it be? What can happen in a running sim/pc without restart. I dont get it... And i have no idea where to start fixing. Im into all the other sims quite heavy, if it would be P3D i would know where to start but here im fully lost.
Any idea?
