Natural flat land is nonexistent in this area, and the airport sits on an area that was created by mountaintop coal mining. The runway is a mere 2,556 feet long, with sharp 200ft+ drop offs on each end. There is zero tolerance for error here.
The airfield is surprisingly well kept, the pavement on both the runways and aprons is immaculate, with clear visible markings and new lighting.
The hangars aren't much to look at... they are some of the oldest examples of T-hangars around. Sizable trees are growing through the door of one of the vacant bays. A small office sits in the corner of the brown hangar, but don't expect to find an attendant here, or fuel or any other service for that matter.
What you see is what you get. This little piece is so obscure, you'll never find anyone that has taken time to devote some effort into making even the most basic scenery for it. Until now!
